Rich Coast Diving – Costa Rica

1. General
By booking any activity, course, trip, or accommodation with Rich Coast Diving, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all scuba diving, snorkeling, training courses, dive trips, accommodation bookings, and related services provided by Rich Coast Diving.

2. Booking & Payment

All bookings are subject to availability.

Full or partial payment may be required at the time of booking through our website or approved booking platforms.

Prices are per person unless stated otherwise.
-
A booking is considered confirmed only once payment has been received.

3. Cancellations & Refunds​
Diving, Snorkeling & Courses
-
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled activity may be eligible for rescheduling or a refund.
-
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled activity are non-refundable.

No refunds will be issued for:

No-shows
-
Late arrivals
-
Early termination of a course or trip

Accommodation & Deposits
-
All deposits or payments made for accommodation are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.

This includes cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals, early departures, or changes to travel plans.

Accommodation bookings may be subject to separate supplier terms and availability.

Operator Cancellations

If Rich Coast Diving cancels an activity due to weather, safety, or operational reasons, guests will be offered:

A rescheduled date, or
-
A refund for the activity portion only, excluding accommodation.​

4. Medical Fitness & Experience
-
Participants must be in good physical and mental health.
-
All participants must complete a medical questionnaire prior to participation.
-
Certain medical conditions may require written medical clearance.
-
Certified divers must present valid proof of certification and recent diving experience if requested.
-
It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they meet the minimum requirements for the activity booked.

5. Safety, Conduct & Participation
-
All participants must follow instructions given by dive guides and instructors at all times.

Rich Coast Diving reserves the right to refuse participation or terminate an activity if a participant’s behavior is unsafe, irresponsible, or non-compliant.

Alcohol or drug use before any diving or snorkeling activity is strictly prohibited.

6. Liability, Assumption of Risk & Waivers (Aligned with SSI Training Standards)

Scuba diving and snorkeling are adventure activities that involve inherent risks.
-
Participation in any diving or snorkeling activity requires the completion and signing of industry-standard liability release, assumption of risk, and medical forms provided by the applicable training agency (including SSI) and/or Rich Coast Diving.

These forms must be signed prior to participation and form an integral part of the agreement between the participant and Rich Coast Diving.

In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between these Terms & Conditions and the signed liability release forms, the terms of the signed liability release shall prevail.

7. Weather, Sea Conditions & Marine Life

Dive and snorkel sites are selected daily based on weather, sea conditions, and participant experience.
-
Schedules, locations, or activities may be changed for safety reasons.
-
Marine life sightings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed.

8. Equipment
-
Guests are responsible for the proper use of all rental or personal equipment.
-
Any loss or damage caused by misuse or negligence may be charged to the participant.
-
Personal equipment is used at the participant’s own risk.
​
9. Photography & Media
-
Photos or videos may be taken during activities for promotional purposes.
-
Guests who do not wish to appear in photos or videos must notify Rich Coast Diving in writing prior to the activity.

10. Insurance
-
Personal dive insurance is strongly recommended for all certified divers.
-
Rich Coast Diving does not provide personal dive insurance unless explicitly stated.
​
11. Children & Minors
-
Minimum age requirements vary depending on the activity.
-
A parent or legal guardian must sign all required documentation for minors.
-
Some activities may require parental supervision.
​
12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
-
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Costa Rica.
-
Any disputes shall be subject to Costa Rican jurisdiction.

13. Acceptance of Terms
By completing a booking through our website or booking platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms & Conditions in full and understand that additional liability and medical forms will be required before participation.
