First Aid & CPR Course

The first aid course gives you the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. In this program, you learn about, primary assessment, first aid, CPR and primary stabilization techniques. You also learn about oxygen administration in diving emergencies and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) basics. Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need for emergency response. By the time you are certified, you will be able to act as an emergency first responder, provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and provide AED support in a medical emergency.

Fun and challenging the React Right course with Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) course combines flexible online self-study and in-person training. It's your course at your pace. Practice a skill until you feel confident before moving on to the next one. To get certified you complete the following two parts of the course. 1. INDEPENDENT STUDY - Online Digital Learning Online training makes it easy to fit a CPR and first aid course into a busy schedule or start your learning before your holiday and spend more time underwater. Watch videos of different first aid techniques and learn what steps to take in an emergency. Study online or offline, using a computer or mobile device. Connect with your instructor if you have questions. • Digital learning time commitment: 2-4 hours 2. AT THE DIVE SHOP - With Your Instructor Learn essential skills for helping others in an emergency. Get hands-on experience administering CPR using a special manikin, practice bandaging and splinting, and apply your new skills in a role-playing scenario. • Prerequisites: Desire to help others • Total time commitment: Half day classroom session with no in-water activities. • Minimum age: None

First Aid Primary Care teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise. Primary Care (CPR) skills taught in this course: • Scene Assessment, Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management, Spinal Injury Management, Conscious and Unconscious Choking Management. • Recommended Skills – Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use – Emergency Oxygen Use.

The First Aid Secondary Care course focuses on managing injuries or illnesses that aren't immediately life-threatening. You'll learn through knowledge development, skill practice, and realistic scenarios. Key skills include injury and illness assessment, bandaging, and splinting for dislocations and fractures.

The First Aid Course with CPR & AED teaches the basic principles of CPR and how to deploy and use an Automated External Defibrillation (AED) in an emergency situation. This life saving device can increase a patient’s chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent. This course is very popular for annual CPR (re-)training often required for the workplace.
