What happens after the Pro Prep Week
Your Next Step After Pro Prep
After completing Pro Prep Week, divers have the experience and prerequisites needed to begin professional dive training such as the SSI Divemaster program. Participants can continue directly into one of the following professional pathways: 1-Month Divemaster Internship An intensive program focused on completing Divemaster training and gaining real dive leadership experience. 2–3 Month Divemaster Internship A more comprehensive pathway that allows time to develop stronger dive leadership skills while assisting instructors and working with real students. Marine Ecology Pro Program A unique pathway that combines divemaster training with marine conservation and research experience in Costa Rica. Many participants choose to continue directly into Divemaster training after Pro Prep Week. Others take time to reflect before beginning their professional journey. There is no pressure, only preparation.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience becoming a dive master, and then instructor here at Rich Coast Diving. I began with their 3 month dive master program, and the instruction, mentorship, and real life experience I was given during my training was outstanding. The owners Celine and Niels, along with Instructors Federico, Stephania, and Daniel were incredibly supportive and truly want you to succeed.
As for the Instructor Training course, Niels and Celine worked tirelessly to fully prepare us for our instructor evaluation, and thanks to their constant support, feedback, and high standards, I felt confident and ready for the IE. The well structured course and their ongoing guidance left me with zero regrets about choosing Rich Coast for my instructor training.

Training Location & Travel Information
Program start dates are flexible, and you can begin your Pro Prep Week on any day of the year, depending on availability.
Located in Playas del Coco on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, our dive center offers year-round access to diverse dive sites ideal for skill development.
You can fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR), just 40 minutes away, and airport pickup can be arranged.
Alternatively, you can fly into San José (SJO) and take a shuttle to Playas del Coco (approx. 5 hours).
