Learning to scuba dive in Costa Rica is an incredible experience—but knowing which course to start with can be confusing. At Rich Coast Diving, Costa Rica’s highest-rated dive center, we guide you through every step so you can find the perfect starting point.

Depending on how much time you have and if you want to get certified, you can choose from three beginner-friendly options:
1. Try Scuba Diving – Discover Scuba Diving for the first time
This is a unique experience to get the taste of scuba diving. An excellent opportunity to see the beautiful underwater world of Costa Rica.
This is a 2-day experience. The first day pool session starts 1PM in the afternoon and the next day at 7.30 AM you will go for 2 open water dives and discover our beautiful dive sites.
Price $175 USD including 13% VAT.
No certification required
All equipment included
2 day program, includes pool training and two ocean dives
Maximum depth of 12 m under instructor supervision
Great for for those who want to try scuba diving for the first time.
Fully upgradeable toward your Open Water certification within 6 months.
2. Scuba Diver Course – Get Scuba Certified
The scuba diver course is the first diving course that gives you an international diving license to 12 meters. With this certification you can dive all over the world, however you will always need to be under the supervision of a professional dive instructor.
This course takes only two days. One morning in the pool and two dives in the morning of the next day. All our courses are given according to the highest standards. We have access to safe and comfortable pool, and a fleet of vessels that bring us to the best diving spot to practice skills and enjoy the incredible marine life. Making your course fun and comfortable.

Duration: 2 days (two mornings)
International Certification allows diving to 12 m depth with a professional guide

To upgrade from Scuba Diver to Open Water diver you need to complete the remaining digital course materials, one additional pool session and two ocean training dives.

3. Open Water Diver – Your Full Scuba Certification
This is the worlds most popular scuba diving course to get you certified. And there is no better place to learn scuba diving then here in Costa Rica ! Our experienced team looks forward to show you the beauty of Costa Rica below the surface. We have unspoiled world class dive sites for beginner divers.

Duration: 3 days (1 morning in the pool and 2 morning to complete 4 ocean training dives)
